Gaia Room

Gaia Room was created by two sisters in 2014 rooting from the opportunity of a cultural exchange between Dominican Republic and Venezuela. Half Venezuelan and half Dominican, the Tosta sisters have always had a special appreciation for everything made in Venezuela, and even more so if it means helping the Venezuelan economy by exporting the espadrilles. The shoes are 100% cotton, eco-friendly and handmade in Venezuela, then intervened by Gaia Room in Dominican Republic. The vibrant colors offer endless possibilities of original combinations that can transform any look.

There are a myriad of different base models of espadrilles, varying in colors and styles. And to these bases, decorations are added such as tassels and pompoms, creating multiple options for clients. With this project, the Tosta sisters intend to support the commercial exchange between Venezuela and the Dominican, while also sharing beautiful artisanal pieces with the rest of the world. Spreading some of the quality craftsmanship available in Venezuela, specially now that the country is in a delicate state, means a lot to the sisters.
